FATHER
AND KID

storyboard: KID is drawing, and doodling around, exploring his creativity with the materials around him.

-For a  grown-up or a kid to be creative

the grown-up needs to be a kid

and the kid needs to be a kid

storyboard: KID is following his heart, his heart is pure, his intentions are pure, he’s following and exploring the feeling that tells him to create.

​

-O my heart, you belong to something bigger than me,

I will follow your ways,

and shall be judged. 

storyboard: KID keeps on creating even though he’s not great at it he still tries, with his unrestrained passion he inspires FATHER to get out of his comfort zone and create as well.

​

-“this CrossFit shit ain’t my comfort zone” - turtle

storyboard: creating for FATHER even though not pursued always been something FATHER loved but neglected for a “safe” and “free” lifestyle, in a form of a “secure” job, that offered “freedom”.

​

-I woke up - thinking I was awake, but they put me to sleep; telling me I was awake.

storyboard: after FATHER lost his job, the pain, the confusion, and the uncertainty that FATHER is left with, inspired him to shed more light on his long-lost creativity, and find a crack of hope in the dark spot he’s in.

​

-the lantern was broken into and its light was stolen.

they burn it down, But PURPOSE, it gives light.

storyboard: FATHER reflects on his preset priorities, he gave too much to his job thinking he was as well present in KID’s life, but reality is that there was no balance, the job he had offered a “freedom” but a freedom that had a definition different from the dictionary’s -

freedom noun

/ˈfriːdəm/

1. the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants.

2. the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved.

3. the state of not being subject or affected by (something undesirable)

-I gave too much, they couldn’t see it.

I wanted to give more, but I have none left to give,

and they don’t have a mailbox. More is Less.

storyboard: the realization that the “essentials” FATHER was

offered weren’t the essentials he needed, in fact, they were nothing, but the “essentials” he was offered, useless.

​

-the help i receive is for my “helper” to feel good, not for me to be helped. Well, i mean at least i’ll burn hydrated.

storyboard: FATHER’s perspective shifts to look for the bigger picture, in every situation.

storyboard: Losing a “safe” job is challenging, especially for a provider, it’s a process filled with fear and uncertainty, but FATHER figures out a way to let go of his fears and keep pushin’, with love.

-Instead of overthoughtful fear, LOVE.

storyboard: after FATHER changed his perspective on so many things, acting on it every day, he recognized how much it boosted up KID’s character, confidence, and creativity. FATHER realized that leading with words can do so much, but it’s nothing compared to leading through action.

​

-I am a sheep to a good shepherd 

I am a shepherd to sheep.

storyboard: One morning, FATHER woke up and was about to wake KID up to go to school, KID wasn’t there, and then FATHER realized that he had no KID to start with, it was only himself all along looking at life from a different point of view.

​

-Here’s to curiosity,

Here’s to seeking knowledge,

Here’s to vulnerability,

Here’s to my inner kid,

Thank you for the wisdom,

the wisdom that roots from your presence 

the wisdom that pours from your innocence.

storyboard: FATHER loneliness gives him hope to be patient that someday he might have someone who will be always there for him like KID once was.

-In my heart, I believe

Believe there will be someone

Someone that waits for me

Patiently,

in my rainy days.

storyboard: FATHER’s new foundation on top of what he built.

​

-for we die because we have lived,

 we shall live, for we are destined to die.

 with every sunrise,

 we die, we live, we try.
